Mission
To find the connection between psychology and creativity.
As a senior at Northern Arizona University, I decided to look deeper into what connects the human mind and creativity together.
About the Blog and Author!

This blog was created as a way for me to combine two of my passions, psychology and creativity! As a psychological sciences major and a creative film and media minor, I have always loved films that focus on psychological aspects and psych studies that look at human creativity. The intersection between the human mind and creativity has always really intrigued me, so I figured, why not make a blog about it? If you have ever asked yourself questions like “Why do I feel creative outside in nature but not in school?” or “Why is there a stereotype of the tortured artist? Do I have to be sad to make art?”, then this blog is for you!
As for me, my name is Kira Newman and I am a student at Northern Arizona University. I love to travel, take photos, listen to music, play video games, watch movies, read books, and go to museums! Overall, I am drawn to anything and everything in the creative world. Some fun facts about me are that I have a dog and a cat, my favorite show is “The Walking Dead”, my favorite book is “Giovanni’s Room” by James Baldwin, and I collect vinyl! I hope you enjoy my blog and learn more about how psychology and creativity are intertwined.
